Death-metal pioneers, Cannibal Corpse are set to launch a massive headlined-tour through the U.S. this Fall. The band will be backed by fellow Metal Blade label-mates, Cattle Decapitation and Sweden’s own, Soreption.
In direct support of their latest effort, 2014’s A Skeletal Domain, an album that sold an impressive 8,800 units in its first week, snagging a solid No. 32 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, these natives of Buffalo, New York show no signs of slowing-down. And why should they? As of 2015, a reported sales-figure indicates Corpse has a combined-average of over 2-million for all albums released. This figure marks them as the biggest-selling death-metal artist of all time. That’s a monumental feat, given an overall lack of commercial airplay and mainstream acceptance. The death-metal juggernaut doesn’t need it. They’ve gutted-out their success through sheer hard-work and a relentless drive to carve their own path the old-fashioned way.
The upcoming tour this Fall won’t be any different than the solidified place in the metal hall-of-fame they’ve been cultivating as masters of their craft for just shy of thirty-years now. Armed with a full-metal-jacket of highly-controversial material, most recently: A Skeletal Domain(2014) and Torture(2012), Corpse will proceed to rip through the States like a wrecking-ball drenched in flames. Kicking it off in Jacksonville’s, appropriately-named: Underbelly, venue on October 8th, there will be no rest for the wicked until every bandmate has suffered from head-banger’s neck. The last breath of the tour will be exhaled November 7th in Orlando.
