Gary Clark Jr. Announces New Album The Story Of Sonny Boy For September 2015 Release

Austin, Texas-based singer and guitarist Gary Clark, Jr. has announced the release of his next album for September 11, 2015, via Warner Bros. Records.

Clark’s forthcoming album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, is the follow-up to 2012’s Blak and Blu. The 13-track album is currently available for pre-order from digital music outlets and all those who pre-order it will receive instant gratification downloads of “The Healing” and “Grinder,” two of the songs from the record. Clark wrote, produced and arranged the whole album himself, as well as playing most of the instruments that appear on The Story of Sonny Boy Slim. So far in 2015, Gary Clark, Jr. has played at festivals like Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Free Press Summer Fest in Houston and Firefly Music Festival in Delaware.

As an Austin-based artist, he was very involved in SXSW, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing at the Music Tech Mashup Day Party, the Empire SXSW Party and the SXSW Austin Music Awards. In the coming months, he will be also be appearing as part of the lineup for Austin City Limits Music Festival, which he has played several times in the past.

Clark recently finished a sold-out European tour and will be supporting the Foo Fighters on a North American tour in September and October. He will also be playing at The Full Tilt Boogie Festival in Vermont and the Afropunk Festival in New York City in August. Every ticket purchased to see Gary Clark, Jr. on tour from October 31 to April 14 will include a digital download of The Story of Sonny Boy Slim. Fans who buy tickets for the upcoming fall and spring headlining tour will receive an email on September 11 with redemption instructions, but buying tickets to festival dates and tour dates with the Foo Fighters are not part of the promotion.
