Hollywood Vampires Announce New Album Featuring Paul McCartney, Johnny Depp And Alice Cooper

Hollywood Vampires, a supergroup consisting of actor/musician Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry are set to be releasing their first self-titled album set to be released on September 11th.

The band is named after the group created by famous musicians in the seventies, where in order to get in one had to “outdrink” the rest of them. Member included band member and former “president” of the group, Alice Cooper. “I would walk in on a typical night and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon — who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffeur — Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there,” said Cooper in a statement.

The album has been in the works since 2012, and will mainly consist of covers, including songs by John Lennon, Harry Nillson and the Who (all members of the aforementioned group) as well as song mash-ups. One of the mashup’s including Cooper’s song “School’s Out” with Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (part 2)” and a mashup of “Five to One” and “Break on Through” both by the Doors.

According to Consequence of Sound, the album features Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Slash, Joe Walsh, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, Perry Farrell, Zak Starkey, and The Doors’ Robby Krieger.Cooper will be providing vocals for every song on the album. The thirty-second long album trailer shows clips of the band in the studio, including John Densmore and Mccartney playing his hofner bass.

All album proceeds will go to the MusiCares foundation.
