FFS (Franz Ferdinand + Sparks) Announce Fall 2015 Tour Dates

FFS, the “Supergroup” that meshes the sonic-craft of Franz Ferdinand + Sparks have announced their first ever tour through North America this Fall.  Set to kick-off on September 30th in Toronto, ON, the tour will showcase the band’s new self-titled collaboration, FFS.

Following a stunning line-up of festivals and headliners in Europe this summer, including the jaw-dropping headline performance on the John Peel Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, FFS seeks to take the States and Canada by storm.  Leaving no major-city unturned, the tour will veer from East-to-West, hitting notables, Boston, Philadelphia, New York’s famed: Terminal 5 on October 6th, Chicago, Denver, and the legendary Palladium in Los Angeles on October 13th.

Setting new standards for the dictionary-definition of what is now the familiar term, supergroup, FFS pulled out all the stops to enlist the help from indie-visionary, John Congleton to produce their first-ever LP.  Grammy-award winner, John Congleton, also known for honing the talents of St. Vincent and David Byrne, recorded this raucous bunch-of-lads at RAK Studio’s in London.

Recorded mainly in the latter part of 2014, FFS culls together the strong-points of two bands complimenting each other equal in measure.  The lower-tonality of Ferdinand-frontman, Alex Kapranos’s vocals blend seamlessly with the higher-register of Sparks’s, Russell Mael.  Never short of their patented knack for pop-hooks and phrases, both the “Flying-Scott’s” and “Seasoned American Rockers” flesh out sound that’s a testament to indie-pub and theatrical art-rock.  Complete with keyboard-flourishes and guitar-driven riffs, FFS delivers a juggernaut of talent on cuts: “Piss Off,” “Call Girl,” and high-point: “Johnny Delusional.”

While they officially announced their formation on March 9th of this year, the boys of Franz Ferdinand and Sparks originally met in the mid-2000’s and felt the bonds of inspiration to record and make music together.  Since then, each of the bands have been busy recording and touring in their own right.  They figured now the time was right to join-forces and let it ride well into the unknown.  The result is nothing short of genius.
