Dave Rawlings Machine Announce New Album Nashville Obsolete For September 2015 Release

The Americana duo Dave Rawlings Machine has just announced the September 18th release of their second album Nashville Obsolete following the 2009 album A Friend of a Friend. The new album will consist of seven original compositions written by Dave Rawlings and partner Gillian Welch. Backing the pair will be Paul Kowert on bass, Willie Watson on vocals and guitar, Brittany Haas on the fiddle and Jordan Tice on mandolin.

This is the 7th album that the beloved duo has collaborated on, including Gillian Welch’s 2011 Grammy nominated The Harrow and the Harvest and her 2001’s Time (The Revelator). The Dave Rawlings Machine will also be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting in mid September by the Americana Music Association at the 2015 Honors & Awards ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The pair will be backing the release of their newest album with a world tour, which will be announced at a later date. Until then, the team will be appearing at various popular events, including closing the inaugural AmericanaFest concert that will be held in the new Ascend Amphitheatre in Nashville, Tennessee on September 19, 2015.
