WATCH: Slime Release New Video For “Hotdog”

Slime’s melancholic and experimental new track “Hotdog” has an accompanying video that has just been released. Be plenty aware though: this music video takes the song in a very literal sense. You have been warned.

Will Archer, who is better known as Slime, originates from Newcastle and is working on his debut album Company to be released on August 14th. With an organic and classic sound, Slime seems to be a new musician with age old influences that are highlighted in his work such as his track for “Hotdog”.

However, this video isn’t some metaphorical deeper meaning representation of the track. As in, it’s quite literally a man in a hot dog suit. However melancholy and sad this man in the highly detailed hot dog costume is seems to be reflected in the track as he wanders aimlessly through various scenes of countryside. With a lonely and isolated feeling considering the hence forth known as hot dog man is the sole feature in this video, the track has a bit of a weird feel when accompanied by this visual. Whatever hot dog man’s goal or reasoning for his actions is, it’s not highlighted in the video. What is highlighted in the video however is the ethereal tones and smooth rhythms the track “Hotdog” does have.

Slime surely has some influences way before his time, and does a phenomenal job of mixing both old and new in musical techniques. You’ve got to admire the amount of passion and work put into a track that combines such a variety of genres. Even if the video does follow around a man in a hot dog suit with some stunning visuals of the english countryside.

Be sure to check out the video for “Hotdog” and keep an eye out for Slime’s debut album Company out August 14th.
