Garage punk band Radkey has just released a new video for their track “Love Spills”. This track is off their new album set for release in August: Dark Black Makeup. This album has 13 tracks of both new and old material.
The track “Love Spills” is not only classic Radkey badass, but has incredible punk roots and good classic rock and roll ambiance. If you think that’s where it ends, you’ll have to see the video. The video for “Love Spills” follows the story of skateboarders working at a pizza place that happen upon a baby locked in a car. The mother is preoccupied, nobody seems to assist them and the skateboarders work to save the baby. Shenanigans ensured, as well as great vocals and a beat you’ll want to start dancing to immediately.
The director of the video, Alec Nicholas, really took to a somewhat dark and disturbing vibe for the video. It fits along perfectly with the track, of which is written about a villain’s adoration for terrorizing his city. When asked about the inspiration for the skater video, Nicholas said the following:
I came up with the idea a year or two ago when some friends and I were watching a YouTube video called “SKATERS SAVE TWO BABIES FROM LOCKED CAR”, so I decided to take that scenario and bring it to a different place.
Nicholas definitely brought it to a different place, bringing both dark and heroic vibes to the video. It was an outstanding accompaniment to the track “Love Spills”, and highlighted the highs and strong suits of the track. Fans are ecstatic about Radkey’s new album to be released soon, saying “Love Spills” is a great preview of new material and directions that Radkey might be headed towards in the future.
It’s twisted, badass, and fits perfectly with the iconic track from the coveted new album. Mark your calendars for August folks, Radkey will be taking over garage punk lover’s music collections yet again. As if they haven’t had enough success running the festival circuit with acts like Riot Fest, SXSW, and Coachella.
