This morning, Ice Cube stopped by Power 99 in Philadephia while promoting Straight Outta Compton and spoke about the Dr. Dre curated soundtrack, for the biopic, which finally has a release date. It is set to be released this weekend, on August 1st.
The soundtrack for the upcoming film has already said to feature the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Eminem, who had also been rumored to be joining N.W.A. on a reunion tour following the biopic. However, from what Ice Cube explained that Dr.Dre is actually releasing a “Compton-inspired album,” through the soundtrack.
“It’s Dr. Dre. It’s what everybody’s been waiting for,” said Ice Cube. “It’s definitely a dope record. And he dropping it all on the same day.”
