In 2006, Korn’s leading man, Jonathan Davis, decided to share his fascination of serial killers with the rest of the world and open up the “American Curiosities Museum”, a study of said criminals. Unfortunately for Davis, the plans for his odd museum fell through and his partner in the project sued him. His lawyers managed to get Davis acquitted so you’d think Davis would be grateful. Turns out, Davis owed his representation $158, 407 and agreed to pay the team a total of $1,000 a month until it was paid off. After just two months, he stopped paying. Now, 9 years later, Davis’ ex-lawyers are suing for the remaining balance plus interest, a total that comes to $256,021.
Before he was a musician, Davis, the 44-year-old rocker, studied at the San Francisco School of Mortuary Science and became a professional embalmer. Even after the start of his music career, his infatuation with mortality continued and in the early 2000s he began collecting art and memorabilia with a reoccurring and unsettling theme, serial killers.
Davis’ band Korn is currently celebrating their 20th anniversary and are set to play Knotfest and Monster Energy Rock Allegiance in October, and Ozzfest Japan in November.
