In support of his newest album release and following a sold out North America tour alongside a series of festival performances, José González, the indie folk singer-songwriter and guitarist from Gothenburg, Sweden, will be embarking on a U.S. tour this fall with his full band. The tour will include performances from the Atlantic to the Pacific, starting in Hollywood, Florida on September 28th, and ending in San Francisco, California on October 18th with an appearance at the Treasure Island Music Festival.
Earlier this year, González released his first solo album in seven years entitled Vestiges & Claws and received nothing but rave reviews.
“His messages are as contemplatively captivating as the musical details that he accentuates” –Paste
“His approach to songwriting has appeal in light of the stridency and self-righteousness of modern discourse” –Pitchfork
“González’s songs are slight little creations, with minimal words encapsulating big ideas and breezy pop melodies disguising weighty notions about life’s endlessly refracting illusions” –NPR
“His voice is a singular instrument, warm and textured.” –Billboard
Recently, González has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, appeared at various music festivals including Lowlands, Open’er, Sasquatch! and Primavera and released new video for his single “Open Book”. He also recorded a stripped-down session for World Café’s “Sense of Place” series in Stockholm that will air on WXPN on July 30th at 2 PM. Listen here: http://www.xpn.org
Pre-sale tickets, album and merchandise bundles will all be available on July 28th at 10 AM on http://jose-gonzalez.com/tour-dates/ and general tickets will go on sale July 31st.
