WATCH: Elbow Release New Video For “Lost Worker Bee”

Elbow, the English alternative rock group who recently released their sixth full length studio album, The Take Off and Landing of Everything have released the video for the title track of their new EP, Lost Worker Bee. The video (which Undertheradarmag.com calls “Curious”) features a man with a red scarf tied around his wrist and wearing a suit wandering towards and then through a city.

As the man wanders toward the city he is greeted by many different people, most of which are showing off a talent of theirs, while some are simply dancing (or maybe that is their talent?). The man encounters another man on a bike who does some tricks in front of him before riding off, and a group of karate students of various rankings who perform some moves before bowing and letting the man pass. As the man enters the city he comes across a baton twirler who does a short routine before bowing, which the man mimics before continuing on his way. Continuing on, the man runs into some tough looking break dancers who show off their moves in an intimidating manner. Toward the end of the video the man finally reaches his destination, sitting next to a woman who takes the scarf off of his wrist. The man in the “Lost Worker Bee” video does a good job of presenting the ideal “Just go with it” attitude that some people wish to have. He’s barely phased by any of the strange talents or dance moves that are presented to him, and in some cases does his best to fit in, matching a group of girls dance moves, or acting tough toward the break dancer, for example.

The video clocks in at just a bit longer than the song at exactly five minutes in length, but is enjoyable enough to the point where the length isn’t really a deterrent to watching the entire thing. The varying qualities of the people the main character meets keep viewers interesting in what could possibly come next.

In April, Elbow released their first new song since 2014s The Take Off and Landing of Everything. “What Time Do You Call This” was released as part of the soundtrack for the Simon Pegg film, Man Up.
