LISTEN: Micachu & The Shapes Release New Song “Sad”

Micachu and the Shapes are presenting their third studio album, Good Sad Happy Bad this upcoming September. From this, we have their debut single “Sad” off their new album that we’re excited to present!

After a three year hiatus, the return of Micachu and the Shapes is quite spontaneous. After band members decided to meet up for a jam, inspiration truly struck and the session went on for hours. During this session, new material struck and here we are with a new album three years later! It shows the effect of collaboration with artists and how magical it really can be.

Artist collaborations are so creative and unique, especially for a group that has taken a bit of a break. Allowing them to get the creative air flowing again shows how powerful working with various musicians really is! Setting your own rules on what’s being written, what’s being played and how the session is going out allows the musicians to take their own creative rule. Micachu and the Shapes are really killing it with the track “Sad”, and you can feel the power of collaboration within the track itself.

From some addicting drums to catchy melodies, “Sad” is a crazy addicting tune that gets everyone excited for this new album. The best part is the collaboration and passion within the band members.

“For me it’s the most free we have ever been.”

Levi states this regarding this album in terms of developing their tracks completely improvised rather than showing up to a studio. It’s a unique approach to songwriting, and it’s definitely shown in the track “Sad”.

This track is just chill, fun, and a great return to the music scene for Micachu and the Shapes. From electronica to pop to alternative, the group’s sound is unique and keeps you hooked. We can’t wait to see what new material Micachu and The Shapes are going to work with in the future. If they keep it up, their jam sessions may become legendary for new works.

Be sure to check out Micachu and The Shapes’ new track “Sad” off their new album Good Sad Happy Bad out September 11th!
