WATCH: Laurel Releases New Video For “Blue Blood”

Today, Laurel returns with her single “Blue Blood.” She is not only a singer and a songwriter, but also a producer. Talk about a one woman show, Laurel has been writing, producing and performing her own original material since age 14 in a tiny town near Southampton in the UK. Since then Laurel has released two EPs, To the Hills and Holy Water and a few months back she dropped her Allelopathy EP, which showcased a new twist in her talents.

“I wrote ‘Blue Blood’ a couple of years ago in my tiny home studio in West London, what started a rough demo uploaded on Soundcloud has formed into a song which I feel has shaped most of the music I am writing and producing today, as it was the first of its kind from my album,” explains the 20-year-old. “I was lucky enough to record a 24 piece string section at Angel Studios for this song with the amazing Rupert Christie, and have had the awesome Dani Castelar mix my final productions. I am so excited for this to finally be coming out in its final incarnation.”

Laurel recently teamed up with long-term friend and mentor Shadow Child to write “Nothing Hurts You” as part of his collaboration with Ben Pearce (premiered on Dancing Astronaut). Laurel has also written, co-produced, and lent her stunning vocals to Charles Hamilton’s “Down the Line”, which will be released later this month on his forthcoming EP entitled The Black Box. Laurel’s song “Fire Breather” was featured on the wildly popular CW show The Vampire Diaries in 2014, and she has received major airplay in the UK on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and XFM. Her music tracks have garnered over 5 million Spotify streams and millions of YouTube views. In a Muzu music session, Laurel plays her song “Blue Blood” and “To The Hill.”
