WATCH: Dave Grohl Covers Neil Young With Former Members Of Pearl Jam And Blind Melon

Foo Fighters guitarist and lead singer Dave Grohl performed at a motorcycle rally on the fourth of July this past weekend, according to NME Music News, after having to cancel tour dates due to a broken leg.

Grohl fell offstage less than a month ago while touring in Europe, leading to the cancelation of a handful of Foo Fighters tour dates. You can’t keep a good man down, apparently, because three weeks into his recovery, Grohl re-emerged to play two cover songs with former Pearl Jam and Blind Melon artists, covering Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” and The Rolling Stones’ “Bitch” at DC Brau Brewing in the US capital. After the artists performed together, Grohl later joined his band to perform at Robert F Kennedy Memorial Stadium for their comeback show.

According to the NME article, Grohl played alongside former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen, Foo Fighters’ live keyboardist Rami Jaffee and Blind Melon guitarist Christopher Thorn.

Even though the Foo Fighters had to cancel shows, Grohl wasn’t going to miss this rally and his comeback with his band. Even with a broken leg, Grohl still performed with the high energy he’s known for. As for the anniversary show and upcoming tour dates, Grohl isn’t going to let the injury affect the rest of the tour. He even designed a throne equipped with a stand for his broken right leg for the upcoming shows. He premiered the throne at the comeback show Saturday.

The tour, non-ironically, has been re-named the Broken Leg Tour.
