Micachu & The Shapes Announce New Album Good Sad Happy Bad For September 2015 Release

Tuesday marked the announcement of Londoners Micachu & The Shapes’ forthcoming album, Good Sad Happy Bad, which follows the release of 2012’s Never and 2009’s Jewellery. The album will be released on September 11 via Rough Trade.

The band has also revealed a series of east coast tour dates. The band will begin at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge, then they will make their way to Boot & Saddle in Philly before concluding at Bar Le Ritz in Montreal.

The band’s latest album came to fruition after the trio engaged themselves deep into an hours-long jam session that spurred inspiration for the upcoming release. The recording session was secretly recorded on Drummer Mark Bell’s Edirol field recorder. The band were each so in awe of the recordings that they began to plan for their next album.

Frontwoman Mica Levi said of the album in a press release,

For me it’s the most free we have been.

She goes on to admit that the records’ lyrics were written “non-stop, in one avalanche.”
