Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon announced that he will be collaborating with Rachel Goswell from Slowdive as well as Argentine actor Nicolás Pauls on new spoken word album Dreams of Childhood.
The album will be sold for charity, with the proceeds going to La Casa de la Cultura de la Calle, a nonprofit that benefits homeless children in Argentina. According to an article released by Pitchfork today, the album features 11 poems recited in English by Kozelek and in Spanish by Pauls. The poems, according to Sun Kil Moon’s website, were written by, “street kids in Argentina.”
As for Kozelek’s duet with Goswell, the song will be featured on a record released later by Goswell.
Kozelek has been in the news recently for a handful of controversies leading to a bit of public backlash. After calling a British journalist a couple of unmentionable terms at one of Sun Kil Moon’s shows and other recent controversies, Kozelek hasn’t exactly been in the public eye for charity. This album, however, and the contribution made will be a great way to raise money for a worthy cause.
Dreams of Childhood is set to be released October 27.
