Le Butcherettes, a punk band from Mexico, has announced the September release of their latest album, A Raw Youth.
The upcoming album is set for release on September 18, 2015. It’s the band’s third studio album, following 2011’s Sin Sin Sin and 2014’s Cry is for the Flies. They have already premiered one track from A Raw Youth entitled “They Fuck You Over.”
They toured last summer in support of Cry is for the Flies and are currently on tour with The Melvins. The new album features collaborations with John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and punk legend Iggy Pop.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Teri Gender Bender says, “The focus of the album is the recurring conflict between minorities (the raw youths) and society: The oppressor and the oppressed. Each song is a different story of a youth from a different era. Some of them want to die because their faith in humanity has ended, some want to fight the authority, think outside themselves.”
