Mexican garage punk band Le Butcherettes have treated fans with a glimpse of what’s to come from the trio’s forthcoming album, A Raw Youth, out on September 18 via Ipecac Recordings. The album will follow last year’s release of Cry Is For the Flies. “They Fuck You Over” premiered on Sunday via BBC Radio One’s Rock Show with Daniel Carter.
“They Fuck You Over” is an angry, energetic single overflowing with emotion. It’s one of those songs that’ll have you singing along with the chorus loud and proud. It’s volatile and powerful.
Frontwoman Teri Gender Bender said of the song in a press release:
It’s really the story of the band. Back in Guadalajara, there was so much corruption and jealousy in the music scene. We got stabbed in the back so many times. It was about how hard it is to start a band and keep true to your vision with everyone trying to hold you back.
