Duran Duran released the tracklist as well as a list of the special guests featured on their upcoming album Paper Gods yesterday in anticipation for its U.S. release in September.
Paper Gods is set to be released around the world in September, but in the United States specifically on September 18. The album will be released in four configurations: a standard 12 track CD along with its digital equivalent, a deluxe CD featuring three bonus tracks, a standard vinyl double LP with the original 12 tracks and a limited edition Vinyl Factory Deluxe LP box set.
The deluxe version of the album is already available to pre-order at participating retailers and the newest single “Pressure Off” is available for purchase on digital music platforms. As well as these versions of the album, limited edition fan bundles are available at the Duran Duran Music Store including an exclusive CD with deluxe track listing, special packaging, and a paper fortune teller.
Paper Gods features special guests Janelle Monáe on the first single “Pressure Off,” which also includes CHIC co-founder Nile Rodgers. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is featured on four songs off the album: “What Are The Chances,” “Butterfly Girl,” “The Universe Alone,” and “Northern Lights.”
Canadian award winning singer Kiesza is featured on “Last Night in the City”, while British singer, songwriter and producer Mr Hudson appears on the album’s title track “Paper Gods.” Interestingly enough, actress Lindsay Lohan provides a spoken-word vocal on “Danceophobia.”
Other guest appearances include Mew vocalist Jonas Bjerre and violinist Davidé Rossi.
