For the second consecutive year, the Moonrise Festival will be hosted in Baltimore, Maryland, and the lineup for the 2015 incarnation of the festival is a particular standout roster. This year’s festival boasts the presence of Above & Beyond, Bassnectar, and Zeds Dead.
The musical festival that takes place in Baltimore is known as the Moonrise Festival, so named for the fact that the festival takes place during the rise of the Supermoon, the moment when the moon rises high in the sky and appears much larger than we ever get to see it at any other point in the year. To celebrate the phenomenon, the festival offers a huge swath of various indie and electronic artists to welcome the Supermoon with pulsating rhythms and catchy electronic sounds. Akin to other such electronic festivals in terms of performers, such as the EDC festival, what makes this particular festival stand out from among its peers is the fact that the venue is entirely outdoors, granting concertgoers a guaranteed opportunity to see the moon from a much larger perspective than in other days of the year.
Outside of the highlighted performers, this year’s festival will also see performances from Die Antwood, Protohype, and AC Slater. The Moonrise Festival will take place on August 8th and 9th in Baltimore, Maryland.
