Los Angeles-based band The Neighbourhood have announced that they will be embarking on a North American tour this fall.
Prior to announcing this trek, the band enjoyed a number of festival appearances and successful tours that supported their 2013/2014 release, I Love You. The success of the band was aided by the double-platinum smash hit single, “Sweater Weather”, which received months of play on radio stations. In addition to “Sweater Weather,” I Love You featured “Afraid,” the band’s second single that would go on to reach the Top 5 at Alternative Radio.
In November 2014, instead of resting on their laurels with the success of I Love You, The Neighbourhood released a rap-inspired mixtape, #000000 & #FFFFFF. According to a press release, the title of the mxtape is written in HTML code and stands for the colors black and white. This release featured a number of notable guests including YG, French Montana, and Raury.
The Neighbourhood features Jesse Rutherford on vocals, Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels on guitar, Mikey Margott on bass, and Brandon Fried on drums. This lineup of the band is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album, according to a press release.
Their tour this fall will kick off in New Mexico, before heading up to Colorado and back down to start their tour in the southern United States. So far, the band has announced shows in major southern cities like Houston, Austin, Orlando, Atlanta, and Nashville. Then, The Neighbourhood will wind their way up the east coast and play shows in Washington, DC, New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston, before crossing into Canada for concerts in Toronto and Montreal, respectively.
Next, after one concert in Pittsburgh, PA, they will be taking on the Midwest states with shows in Detroit, Chicago, and Minneapolis. After the concert in Minnesota, The Neighbourhood will again cross the border to play two more Canadian dates in Winnipeg, MB, and Vancouver, BC, respectively.
Following the concert in Vancouver, BC, the band will be poised to wind their way down through the western United States to play shows in Seattle, Portland, and three cities in California – including Los Angeles – before ending their tour with one last show in Las Vegas, NV, on October 30th, 2015.
