Titus Andronicus Release Mixtape Sorry About The Delay Featuring New Music

Titus Andronicus has just released a mixtape, Titus Andronicus Mixtape Volume 2A: Sorry About the Delay, which features demos and outtakes in addition to new takes on previously-released tracks.

The mixtape contains 21 tracks in total, with no track 16 included. The title of the release is a spin on Lil Wayne’s mixtape series, a joke about Titus Andronicus’ use of effects pedals and an apology to fans for the three-year break in between albums, according to Consequence of Sound. Titus Andronicus Mixtape Vol. 1 was released prior to 2012’s Local Business album. The band’s next LP and rock opera, The Most Lamentable Tragedy, will be available on July 28 via Merge Records.

The tracks range from noise rock guitar instrumentals, like “Sorry About the Delay,” to upbeat jams with intense vocals, like “Stranded (On My Own).” Four of the tracks have multiple versions on the mixtape, with versions from rehearsals, demo tapes, mixtapes and a 7-inch. Titus Andronicus will be on tour in North America and Europe in fall 2015.
