The Foo Fighter’s had just announced the cancellation of a bunch of summer tour dates. Now, the band have decided to cancel their headlining set at England’s Glastonbury Fest, with Florence and the Machine as their replacement.

The cause of the cancellation stems from lead vocalist and guitarist Dave Grohl breaking his leg on-stage at their show in Sweden on June 12th.

“Once we heard the sad news that Foo Fighters had been forced to pull out, there was only one person we wanted to call and that was Florence,” said Glastonbury’s co-organizer Emily Eavis. “Every time she has played here she’s done something spectacular and we always knew she would headline the Pyramid one day. I’m delighted she’s agreed to step up to it – she’s going to smash it!”

Florence and the Machine have also written a statement regarding the cancellation via their official Instagram:

“”We are honoured to have been asked to step in, and we hope we will be able to give you as good a Friday night as the Foo’s would have. Sending all our love and well wishes to Dave.”

Earlier this year, Florence and the machine announced work on a new album ,and released their new song “Delilah”just last month. They were originally scheduled to perform after the Foo Fighters. Motörhead will now replace that spot.
