Blur Announce Two U.S. Shows This Fall

In support of their recent album, The Magic Whip, Blur has announced two U.S. shows happening this fall. These shows include performances at the Hollywood Bowl on October 20 and at Madison Square Garden on October 23.

According to Consequence of Sound, these shows mark Blur’s biggest U.S. performances since they headlined Coachella in 2013. Tickets for these two shows will go on sale starting June 20.

Since the successful release of Blur’s latest album, The Magic Whip, it only made sense for the band to go on tour. In a review of the album, Rolling Stone states, “Blur’s classic lineup—singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree—has made its first new album in 16 years, one as quixotic and seductive in its modern searching and subversive pop highs as those Nineties winners… Blur have returned with inspiration to spare.”

Throughout 2015, Blur has been hard at work on the album and preparing for their international tour. The group announced The Magic Whip, their first new album in 16 years, back in February. Throughout the year Blur released number of singles including “Lonesome Street” and “My Terracotta Heart.” Additionally, the group has ventured outside of strictly music with the creation of short documentary, “The Magic Whip: Made In Hong Kong,” and the release of the group’s official comic book Travel to Hong Kong with Blur – created by Kongkee of Penguin Lab.
