The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach Announces New Project The Arcs And Reveals Debut Album Details

The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach has been busy in the studio working on his latest side project, The Arcs. Comprised of Auerbach, Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon, Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor de Toloache, the musicians contribute vocal and instrumental roles.

Friday, September 4 marks the day the band will release their debut album, Yours, Dreamily, via Nonesuch Records. Along with the announcement, the band premiered their first single “Stay In My Corner”. Auerbach takes the reigns with the vocals on this one, offering his signature falsetto, emphasizing a mood of yearning and desire. “I will fight for you if you fight for me too,” he sings.

In an email, Auerbach wrote to NPR:

This project was about making music with some of my longest relationships in music. Leon [Michels], Richard [Swift] and I have not only worked in The Black Keys together, but we have produced together, played on various projects of each other’s, and we’ve collaborated longer than a lot of bands stay together. It just kind of came naturally.
