High on Fire have released a new song titled “The Sunless Years.” An article from Entertainment Weekly offers an audio clip of the new single and links to the pre-order of the single through iTunes. “The Sunless Years” is from the seventh album from High on Fire, Luminiferous, which will be released later in June of this year.
“The Sunless Years” itself is a song that sounds dirty and greasy like a raging ball of fire, full of rage and trouble. It sounds like the type of song that would play throughout your car as you drive off through the night. The grinding and screeching of guitar strings makes you want to go to a full on head-bashing concert. The pauses and changes in the tempo and chords used throughout the song remind the listener as if they were alone on the road at night and the asphalt was all to their keepsake.
“We’re doing our part to expose The Elite and the fingers they have in religion, media, governments and financial world downfall and their relationship to all of our extraterrestrial connections in the race to control this world,” comments vocalist / guitarist Matt Pike in his interview with Action.
Tour dates and tickets are already on sale in North America through the summer. De Vermis Mysteriis is the band’s previous album to Luminiferous, which was released in 2012. High on Fire has been working on albums since the band’s debut in 2000, The Art of Self Defense. The new album will be on sale through eOne Music. The band has also released another single from their new album titled, “The Black Pot.” Both songs are available on YouTube, Soundcloud, and other audio/video streaming devices.
