Austin based rock band, Heartless Bastards, are set to release their upcoming fifth studio album Restless Ones. Today they released their video for the single “Gates of Dawn.”

The video for “Gates of Dawn” follows a late teens/early twenty-something year old running away from a bull like creature that is supposed to represent his demons? Yes, in fact after seeing the end of the video he is indeed running away from said demon(s). As established, at first the boy is running away from a demon, but as the video progresses and goes through a B-roll full of psychedelic clips in director Frank Weysos pocket, the boy eventually works of the gusto to taunt and eventually wrestle his demon(s) into defeat. The visual is of course backed by the song’s extremely bluesy vocals which were done by Heartless Bastard’s lead singer Erika Wennerstrom.
The Heartless Bastard’s album Restless Ones will be hitting shelves on June 9th. They will be going on tour through the fall to promote the album and its lead single “Gates of Dawn”. Peep the visual above, and check the tour dates and track list below.
