California thrash metal band Slayer have announced their next album, Repentless, for release on September 11, 2015.
The album will be a follow-up to 2009’s World Painted Blood and the group’s first album since the firing of drummer Dave Lombardo and the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman, both in 2013. Lombardo joined Amen in 2014 and has said that he will never be going back to Slayer. You can watch the 30-second announcement video for Repentless below.
Slayer toured with Exodus and Suicidal Tendencies in November and December 2014. This year they have been announced part of the lineup for a number of festivals, including Boston’s Converse Rubber Tracks Live, San Bernadino’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest, Pryor’s Rocklahoma 2015, Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville, the 2015 Heavy Montreal Festival and Motörhead’s Motörboat Cruise.
