Veruca Salt Announce New Album Ghost Notes For July 2015 Release

It’s been almost 20 years, but 90s rockers Veruca Salt are officially back. The group announced a new album for this summer, and have already released two brand new accompanying tracks. Take a look at the full track list below.

Their latest effort, Ghost Notes, will be released on July 10 and was produced by none other than Brad Wood, who handled production duties on their first album as well. That first record American Thighs turned out to be an instant hit in the 1990s, introducing their biggest hit “Seether” in 1994. In 1997, they had their second biggest hit “Volcano Girls.”

Veruca Salt had a relatively short-lived career in the spotlight, releasing just two records before one of the founding members, Nina Gordon, left to start her solo career. They briefly reformed in the early 2000s sans Gordon, but went on an indefinite hiatus in 2012.

By 2013, whispers of a full-blown reunion with the founding members of Veruca Salt began to circulate. Now, the band has officially announced their first record together as the founding members of the group in nearly two decades.

Fans of the band’s original lineup will be pleased to know their new material harkens back to their roots as a punky, pop-infused rock outfit. They have two new tracks recorded for the upcoming record, including “The Gospel According To Saint Me” and “Laughing In The Sugar Bowl.”

“Laughing In The Sugar Bowl” is a brutally short song, clocking in at just two minutes long. The band packs a lot of sound into that short timeframe, giving fans a taste of what’s to come on their full-length record. Listen to the song below:

“The Gospel According To Saint Me” is only slightly longer, and has a more dynamic range of sound. Veruca Salt released a grainy lyric video to accompany the track, which you can check out below.
