Desaparecidos Announce Summer 2015 Tour Dates

Conor Oberst’s punk band Desaparecidos have announced tour in support of their new album Payola.

Conor Oberst, and Desaparecidos are building the anticipation for the release of Payola. This will be the first release from the group since Read Music/Speak Spanish came out in 2002. Conor Oberst left the band to pursue his career with Bright Eyes, the band he was apart of before Desaparecidos. The band got back together in 2013 and released a few tracks such as ,“The Left is Right”, “Anonymous”, “Te Amo Camila Vallejo”, and “The Underground Man”. Shortly thereafter the band performed a mini tour, and the rest was history. Desaparecidos reunited and are now moving forward with all the original members of the band. The Nebraska based group signed with Epitaph Records earlier this year. The band’s sound is energetic and grunge-like. The lyrics are typically socially or politically charged. Even the bands name is politically charged. It was derived from those who were arrested by South American military dictatorships and disappeared. Desaparecidos means “the disappeared ones.”

Most recently the band released a video for their song, “City On The Hill.” The band performed at Coachella this year. The band has been on tour since about April, and the recent announcement of an extension in the tour is garnering support for the group and their upcoming album. The tour will cross the northern border a couple of times with shows in Montreal, Quebec (at Oshega on August 1st), and at Urban Roots in Toronto, Ontario (September 18th). The tour closes out at The Fest in Gainesville, Florida on October 30th. Payola, the bands first release in over thirteen years is set to release on June 23rd through Epitaph Records. Catch the band when they come to a city near you. Ticket information and tour dates for Desaparecidos can be found below.
