Titus Andronicus has confirmed the release for their juggernaut double album, The Most Lamentable Tragedy. The record, which will be released as a double CD, or a three disc vinyl set, is due to release on July 28.
Arguably one of the most influential rock bands in recent memory, Titus Andronicus has confirmed the release date for their highly-anticipated new record which will hopefully push them into a never-before reached level of popularity. The central narrative of the record, which was primarily framed by singer/songwriter Patrick Stickles, involves a protagonist undergoing a huge, transformative journey that will reveal more about the character than the character himself may realize. Like the Odyssey of Homer, only internal, the character’s journey will change him for the better or worse. The elaborate narrative is so complex and so rich with story development that Titus Andronicus couldn’t contain it all on a single disc, thus causing the record to expand to a double album state.
The new record will be released on July 28th. Fans and newcomers to the group alike will have their choice of one (or all) possible forms of the record: a digital download, a two-disc CD set, or a three-disc vinyl LP set. This is one of the first big releases from the rock giants in roughly two years, when the group toured with the So So Glos back in Spring 2013. There can be little doubt that the band will hit the road in support of this massive new record very soon.
