WATCH: Major Lazer Releases New Video For “Bass Drop” Featuring Andy Samberg

Major Lazer engaged in several cooperative efforts with different musical artists for his latest record, Peace Is The Mission. In what has been the first non-record release by Major Lazer, the artist has teamed up with The Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg for an animated video for “Bass Drop.”

In 2014, The Lonely Island did a parody of EDM in their spectacular digital short “When Will The Bass Drop?” and, as per usual for the Island lads, the video was a big hit. Now, almost a year later after the short, Andy Samberg has joined forces with Major Lazer to produce a brand new song, appropriately titled “Bass Drop.” Accompanying the track is a new animated video crated by Andrew Chittenden. The timing of the video could not have been better, as FXX is on the verge of releasing a Major Lazer cartoon which will also feature Samberg doing voice work on the show. Although “Bass Drop” will not be featured on Major Lazer’s upcoming Peace Is The Mission record, the new track and accompanying animated video offers a brief glimpse into what the new animated series will look like.

Peace Is The New Mission is set to drop on June 1st. A new video and single have already been released for the new record: “Powerful,” recorded with Ellie Goulding, and “Night Riders,” with 2 Chainz and Pusha T.
