WATCH: Ryan Adams Covers Bryan Adams’ “Summer Of ‘69”

Ryan Adams fulfilled a 13 year-long prophecy as he performed “Summer of ‘69” at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville this week. Adams was heckled at the same venue back in 2002 by a fan who wanted nothing more than to hear the cover.

A fragile, acoustic take on Bryan Adams’ 1985 classic tune echoed through the auditorium as Ryan Adams played alone on stage. You can hear the audience’s excitement raise the song even higher through their cheering and singing along. The performance was a huge treat, both for the fans in attendance as well as for everyone who’d wanted to hear the cover since it was infamously (and obnoxiously) suggested all those years ago.

Adams is in the midst of a U.S. spring tour this year. He already put on fantastic show at Coachella, and he’s still headed to Shaky Knees and Sasquatch. He also just released several vinyl exclusives on April 28 after Record Store Day.
