While touring through Colorado, Twin Shadow’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle pileup yesterday morning. Band members were injured, but not seriously. At least 12 members of the band’s crew did receive major injuries, however, and had to be sent to the hospital.
The crash, which occurred near Aurora, CO, involved Twin Shadow’s two tour buses, a mobile home, as well as two semi-trucks. Reports by the Aurora Police Department have stated that poor weather conditions including fog, snow, and rain were the overarching cause of the incident. Then entire interstate had to be shut down to retrieve the victims and clear the wreckage. Jesse Aaron Paul, a photographer for the Denver Post, managed to capture some footage of the accident.
Twin Shadow has been touring to promote his new album, Eclipse, which was released in March of this year. He also recently signed with Warner Bros Records, which is his first major signing outside of two prior indie labels. Before the accident, he was also scheduled to play at the Viva PHX Festival in Phoenix, AZ. We wish every member of the Twin Shadow band and crew the best during their recovery.
UPDATE
All members of the band and crew were taken to the hospital after the crash. Drummer Andy Bauer and bus driver John Crawford are in serious condition. George Lewis Jr. (Twin Shadow) will have surgery on his hand later this week.
Tour dates from April 21-May 22 have been postponed until everyone recovers.
