California-based hip-hop artist and rapper Tyler, The Creator has released a new music video for “Deathcamp” and “Fucking Young”. These tracks will appear on his upcoming album, Cherry Bomb, which is going to be released on Monday April 13th, 2015.
The music video for “Fucking Young” opens with a wide shot from above of a group of young men gathered around a small swimming pool, and looking concerned. Then, the camera angle changes, and viewers can see they were looking at another young man standing on the roof of a house, or garage, holding a skate board. The man on the roof has the intention of jumping off the roof into the pool. The general content of these shots may remind some viewers of a certain scene from the Cameron Crowe film, Almost Famous. But, at least the young man’s friends in the music video for “Fucking Young” are encouraging him to reconsider, because his plan “doesn’t look safe.” He does make the jump into the pool, and resurfaces easily, apologizing for soaking his friends.
After the jump, he is enamored with one of the young women watching his stunt, and the catchy mid-tempo beat of the backing track begins to play. There is a scene change, and viewers see the main young man in a movie theatre watching a film that centers on a relationship with a young woman set amongst a field of giant sunflowers. The lyrical content of the track focuses on this young man that is attracted to the young woman, but she’s too young to become romantically entangled with him.
A few of the images that may stick with viewers after the song has faded are: Tyler wearing a hat and a pink hooded onesie during a photoshoot; Tyler and his friends floating on balloons that were initially bubblegum, only to have the young woman pop his balloon with a gun; and, the movie theatre attendants carrying Tyler out of the screening.

And, on a related note, Tyler also launched a highly-anticipated multimedia app, called Golf Media. It was created in conjunction with former Yahoo and ABC executive Lloyd Braun’s firm Whalerock, according to the LA Times. Currently, the app is available for download on the Apple and Android stores, where users will get their first two months of usage for free, but will have to pay a fee of $4.99 (USD) per-month for additional access. And, if potential users register for the app through golfwang.com prior to downloading the app; then, as an added incentive to the two months of free app access, he or she will receive a copy of the inaugural issue of Golf Magazine, Tyler’s new visual art print publication, according to a press release.
Lastly, Tyler will be going on a world tour in support of Cherry Bomb, and the tour kicks off on April 11th, 2015, with a performance at the first weekend of Coachella. And, after crisscrossing the globe, this summer, his tour will wrap up with a performance in Tokyo, Japan, on September 13th, 2015. Check out a full listing of tour dates, below.
