Recent SXSW performers TV on the Radio have released a new video for their latest single “Trouble” off the November-released LP Seeds. It is entirely dedicated to the people, their problems and sticking points.
Undoubtedly, Sadness is the main character of the clip. It unites various human beings of all ages, races and appearance; from the old Mexican grandpa to an anxious Asian couple, and from a good-looking girl to the rabid blond guy screaming into the void.
The key idea of the video is obvious: each of us may have different problems, doubts and uncertainties, however, that’s no reason to lose heart, give up and go with the flow.
That is what the band’s frontman Tunde Adebimpe says about the video, which he also directed:
“I just happen to like looking at people and wondering what’s up. We got some people together, some of whom we ran into on the street while we were shooting, and did that. We asked if they could quietly (or not) go to brighter or darker places inside themselves let us be there with them for a little while. Everyone’s sifting through something, right?”
TV on the Radio, who have recently announced their tour dates for the next few months, will also be performing at Capitol Hill Block Party in July, so don’t miss the band’s show in your town this spring. Enjoy the band’s new video for “Trouble” below.
