LISTEN: Montage Of Heck Documentary Releases Previously Unreleased Kurt Cobain Demo

Cobain: Montage of Heck, a new documentary about the grunge disciple Kurt Cobain, coming to few selected theaters on April 10, gets even closer with unveiling some of the previously unreleased demos from Nirvana’s iconic frontman.

This time it’s a 38-second excerpt from one of Cobain’s early demos, and it’s really good. As noted by Stereogum, it’s a somber, haunted acoustic number with lyrics that you will strain your ears attempting to make out. With a complex guitar arpeggio and Kurt’s voice, sounding somewhere between “Something in the Way” and “Pennyroyal Tea,” even half a minute is enough to catch the author’s mood and pulsebeat at that particular moment.

Debuting on HBO on May 4, Montage of Heck, directed by Oscar nominee Brett Morgen, is a first fully authorized documentary about life and death of Nirvana’s leader, filmed with the full cooperation with Cobain’s family, and featuring his daughter Frances as an executive producer of the movie. The first exclusive trailer was shown recently, and now the aforementioned film is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and definitely the most anticipated documentary of 2015.
