Megadeth Announce They Have A New Guitarist

It’s all finally coming together for the legendary metal band. Megadeth has finally installed a new guitarist to replace Chris Broderick, and the replacement sends waves of excitement across both the music industry and fans of the metal genre.

A few months back, Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick announced his departure from the group, citing both artistic and musical differences with the band. Having lost a key member of the group for the lat seven years, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has been eagerly searching for a replacement for Broderick. Finally, after months and months of searching, Megadeth finall has a new guitarist in the form of Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro. Excited by Loureiro’s “depth and talent,” Mustaine wasted very little time in coming to a decision finding a guitarist that would fit the overall sound of the group, and he’s surely found the best one yet. The news of Loureiro’s addition follows on the heels of the announcement that Lamb of God’s Chris Adler would be taking over on drum duties following the departure of Shawn Drover.

While the news of Louriero’s addition to Megadeth is welcome surprise, one thing that remains unclear is whether Loureiro will be joining Megadeth in the studio or if he’ll just be a part of the touring band. Loureiro’s abilities on the guitar make him an obvious choice and an easy transition from Broderick, but the question remains as to whether he’ll be up to scratch with Megadeth’s sound to incorporate him into a studio recording. There’s very little doubt that Loureiro will soon be inserted fully into the group in time for a new record, but fans will be able to get an early look at him when Megadeth shares the stage with Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax at The Big 4 Festival, set to take place in just a couple of weeks.
