The full list of 2015 Alternative Press Awards nominees has been released. The awards show will take place on July 22 at the Quicken Loans arena in Cleveland, OH.
For it’s second year, the 2015 APMAs will be hosted by Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat of All Time Low. This growing awards show is set to feature 15 awards ranging from the best new bands to the most supportive fans. Some previous award winners include Slash, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, and Bring Me the Horizon.
Among those performing at this year’s awards is Sum 41, who have spent a decent amount of time out of the spotlight. They parted ways with their guitarist, Dave “Brownsound” Baksh, in 2016, and split from their, drummer Steve Jocz. The band has also dealt with medical problems concerning frontman Deryck Whibley. This will be Sum 41’s first time on stage since 2012. With a new drummer, and new music reportedly on its way, this upcoming performance is gaining a lot of hype.
Also set to take the 2015 APMA stage is Simple Plan, who is coming off a 3-year American hiatus. Since the release of their self-titled album in 2008 and its follow-up, Get Your Heart On!, in 2011, Simple Plan spent their time touring internationally in Europe and Australia. The band is currently preparing for their fifth studio album, which is scheduled to be recorded starting this month.
