Swedish hardcore band Refused have announced a club tour of the United States for parts of May and June in 2015, in addition to the festival dates that have previously been announced.
On May 24, the day before the start of the tour, Refused will be playing at the Punk Rock Bowling Festival in Las Vegas, with other headliners including Dropkick Murphys and Rancid. The club tour starts May 25 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California, and ends on June 5 at Washington, D.C.’s Rock and Roll Hotel. Scroll down for the full list of tour dates.
Prior even to their Punk Rock Bowling Festival appearance, Refused will play the 2015 Groezrock Festival with fellow headliner Social Distortion on May 1-2 in Belgium. Following their club tour, the group will play Resurrection Fest in Covas, Spain, in mid-June, along with Motorhead and Korn. Refused will then move on to Quebec’s Amnesia Rockfest, where they will play, along with headliners Slayer and System of Down. Finally, it has also been announced that Refused will be playing at the 2015 Reading/Leeds Festival in August, a music fest that also includes Metallica and Run the Jewels.
Refused originally formed in 1991 and broke up in 1998 after releasing five EPs and three full-length albums. They reunited in 2012 to play several festivals worldwide then went on hiatus again. During that time, in 2013, they fired guitarist Jon Brannstrom, seemingly due to creative and professional differences among band members. Their appearances at the above festivals, as well as the upcoming tour, will be the first time the band has played live in those three years. An Instagram post by Autrey Fulbright II of …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead recently sparked rumors of a new Refused album, but the photo was deleted and there has been no confirmation of new recordings by the band. For now, it seems as though fans will have to settle for reliving their favorite Refused songs live. Tickets for Refused’s spring club tour will go on sale the morning of Friday, April 3.
