FKA Twigs self-directed music video for her song “Glass & Patron”. The visual was produced for the Youtube Music Awards. In her video for “Glass & Patron”, the beautiful Twigs takes the viewer on a journey into the woods and more so her mind.
The wicked visual for “Glass & Patron” begins in a mystic forest area, and a white van in the middle of the scenery is highlighted. This van is where FKA Twigs makes her first appearance, and she appears pregnant rubbing her belly. As the densely distorted intro to the song plays out she gives birth to an endless multi-colored cloth. Her vocals sound enchanting and mysterious as dancers appear entangled in the cloth. The hypnotizing beat drops, while in the visual the sky surrounding the forest gets darker.

the head of the stage, where FKA Twigs is seen posing. Multiple dancers take the runway vogueing to the pulsating bass, and the video ends with FKA Twigs taking the stage herself and delivering a flawless dance routine to close things out.
The video has certain imagery that catches the viewers eye. For instance there is an abundance of odd mannerisms done by the dancers, also a common thread throughout the video is a stutter shot of the camera. Besides the cool affect is has on the aesthetic of the video, it adds to the overall meaning of the song “Glass & Patron” and the visual. Twigs and her crew dancing in the darkness of the woods seems to symbolize the difficulty in finding love within the tangled web of emotions that one can feel. The unusual outfits, makeup, or setup of the video in general are symbols of finding beauty in darkness, or the unordinary.
