The Black Keys Cancel More Tour Dates Due To Drummer’s Shoulder Infection

Due to drummer Patrick Carney’s shoulder infection, The Black Keys have decided to cancel the Asia-Pacific portion of their world tour. According to Pastemagazine.com, the band did not expect Carney’s injury to result in more canceled shows.

In a statement on their official website, the band posted a following:
“We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through Apr 23. Patrick sustained a dislocated and broken shoulder in January that required surgery. Working with the doctors, surgeons and physiotherapists since January, we had expected Patrick to be ready to return to touring in April. The recovery process and physical therapy has taken longer than anticipated and unfortunately Patrick is still unable to perform and needs additional time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their ongoing support and we look forward to getting back on the road as soon as possible.”

Back in January, Carney was pulled under by a wave in St. Barts. The accident resulted in a shoulder injury and Carney was rushed to the hospital to have his shoulder rest. While at the hospital doctors discovered that Carney’s injury was more severe and the drummer was in need of surgery. In late January the group decided to cancel their European tour.
