The Highly anticipated, Brett Morgen directed documentary on the life of Kurt Cobain will be shown on HBO on May 4th. Montage of Heck will be sown in 72 countries, beginning April 10th. The film will be released in theaters in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle starting April 24th.
The documentary, which is titled, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, will also now qualify for a potential Academy Award Nomination. Earlier this month the trailer for the documentary was released and showed familiar faces such as Courtney Love, being interviewed.
There will also be some new never before heard music in the film, which Morgen took to Twitter earlier this month to announce:

“Montage of Heck” first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was praised in mutliple reviews. The Wrap called it, “blog, generous portrait of a man who was clearly at tortured teenager before he was a tortured artist and a reluctant icon.”
