Nick Cave and publishing company VICE are teaming up to release a new book by Cave entitled The Sick Bag Song. The book chronicles the mammoth tour that Cave and the Bad Seeds undertook last year.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds got together last year and undertook a massive tour last year, covering over twenty cities in North America. During the tour, Cave began to write about the experiences of being on the road with his band again. Now, both Nick Cave and VICE are proud to announce that the book, titled The Sick Bag Song, will be due out very soon. The book gets it’s title from the fact that Cave wrote the book on airline sick bags throughout the tour. It will apparently be a very surreal book, which Cave himself says falls somewhere between The Wasteland and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. Needless to say, the book should be pretty spectacular.
The book is the latest in a series of announcements from Nick Cave that started late last year. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds confirmed last October that their entire back catalogue will be released on deluxe edition vinyl, an announcement that many fans have been anxiously awaiting for the last couple of years. There’s also a documentary which released in September called 20,000 Days On Earth, which explores the ways in which Cave creates his artwork.
No news yet on when the book will see a release, but there are sure to be a wide variety of special editions and prints once the book is due out. We’ll keep you posted on all of the latest information as we find it.
