Most Ridiculous Rumors of SXSW

With South By Southwest nearing the weekend, some of the rumors in the rumor mill are starting to be shot down. Here are some of the most ridiculous so far…

1. Paul McCartney, Kanye West and Rihanna

As much as we all love “FourFiveSeconds,” it’s looking unlikely that the three of them will combine their powers for a power packed SXSW showcase. The only one from the pack in town is Kanye.

2. Drake

With a new album dropping unannounced a few weeks prior to the festival, the rumors were inevitable! Drake, however, has never made an appearance at SXSW, so many were hoping this would be his year. Unfortunately, the way the festival is going and with most of the major lineups out, Drake is highly unlikely.

3. Kendrick Lamar

In addition to Drake dropping a new album, rapper Kendrick Lamar also dropped his album surprisingly a week prior to its original release date. The album, To Pimp a Butterfly, dropped at the perfect time for the rumor mills to create something juicy that all the SXSW attendees would rave about.

4. Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean and Zedd

With all these big name rappers flying around, someone has to start a rumor that they would all be playing together. Imagine that! They also threw into the mix Frank Ocean and Zedd. The rumor started with a tweet made by Eric Sundermann of Noisey. While the photo flying around was probably fake, it got people pretty hyped.

For all the wishful thinkers, the festival’s not over yet! Just don’t get your hopes up too high…
