Purity Ring have announced an exciting headlining tour that will see them taking the stage this May. The synth-pop duo will play Union Transfer on May 30th. Tickets went quickly for their 8pm show, so the pair added a second early show at the venue. So if you missed out on your chance to grab tickets, you’re in luck. Tickets are still available for the 6pm show at Union Transfer. The original 8pm show has now been pushed back to 10pm. Openers for both events will be Braids and Born Gold. So be sure to head there early to get a taste of the supporting talent.
Purity Ring’s sophomore release Another Eternity was released March 3rd. Ahead of the release they debuted two tracks, “begin again” and “push pull.” The Canadian duo got their start back in 2012 with the release of their first album, Shrines. And with their unique and impressive sound, Megan James and Corin Roddick have made quite a name for themselves in the EDM universe. And their new album shows the pair honing in on their well-cultivated sound for an even more impressive sophomore effort.
Support for the show comes in the form of Born Gold and Braids. Both James and Roddick were formerly members of the band Born Gold. So you’ll definitely want to check those guys out. And then there’s Braids, an art rock band from Alberta, Canada. Their released their debut album in 2011 and a follow up in 2013. Their newest release is slated to drop this April, so be sure to give that a listen before making your way to Union Transfer on May 30th. Whether you’re there for the early show, or the late show, you are definitely in for a great performance!
