Of Monsters And Men Announce New Album Beneath The Skin For June 2015 Release

Icelandic folk-pop group Of Monsters and Men have finally announced the release of their sophomore album, Beneath the Skin, which will be released on June 9.

The new album is the follow-up to their 2011 debut album, My Head is an Animal. Rolling Stone reports that the band has been recording their second album in Iceland and Los Angeles with co-producer Rich Costey. Beneath the Skin will be released via Republic Records.

Of Monsters and Men will be going on a world tour in support of the album, beginning May 4 in Toronto. Other appearances will include the Radio 104.5 8th Birthday Show in Philadelphia, the Open’er Festival in Europe and Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington state.

Along with the announcement of the upcoming album, the band also released the lyric video for the album’s first single, “Crystals.” The track has signature Of Monsters and Men vocals, with a strong drumbeat moving the tune along. Listen to the new song below.

The album will feature 11 tracks, but there will be a deluxe edition featuring four bonus tracks: “Backyard,” “Winter Sound,” “Black Water” (remixed by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor) and “I Of the Storm” (remixed by Alex Somers). See the full tracklisting below.
