Kendrick Lamar Releases New Album One Week Early After Online Leak

Kendrick Lamar’s latest album To Pimp A Butterfly has been released earlier than expected. The hip-hop star was set to release the album one week from now, but the album was allegedly leaked online earlier today.

The supposed leak revealed Lamar’s 16-track album in-full. Now, the entire album is officially available for purchase or streaming on iTunes right here.

While To Pimp A Butterfly has been officially released tonight, the CEO of TDE (Lamar’s joint record company, along with Aftermath and Interscope Records) did not seem so pleased. Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith tweeted the following before this surprise release:

He followed up with this tweet just hours after, saying:

Now that the album has been released, Kendrick Lamar linked to the explicit version of To Pimp A Butterfly on iTunes and said:

All is certainly well for any fans looking to get their hands on this much-anticipated release a bit early.

Kendrick Lamar was recently announced as one of the headlining acts at this year’s Sasquatch festival, and he has series of huge shows planned throughout the spring. Before announcing his latest album, Lamar released a new song with Flying Lotus called “Never Catch Me,” which you can watch right here. You can also take a listen to his freestyle skill on this performance at a radio station this fall.
