It’s only March, but the Melvins have been in the spotlight multiple times this year already. Their newest big announcement comes in the form of brand new tour dates this summer.
The Melvins are gearing up for a massive summer tour in the next few months, with dates all over the United States. Scroll down below for a full list of the announced tour dates.
This tour is actually the band’s second in support of their latest album. The Hold It In tour began last year, and now the band is sending the album off with one final bang.
Their first show starts and ends in Arizona, with their opening show in Tucson on June 6, and their closing show in Phoenix on July 21.
For Hold It In, the Melvins recorded as Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover, and they enlisted the help of Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary and JD Pinkus in the studio. For the tour, Osborne, Crover and Pinkus will hit the road together as the primary band lineup. Le Butcherettes will open for the Melvins throughout the tour.
In addition to these new tour dates, the Melvins recently created a Kickstarter campaign for their newest documentary on the band. Take a look at how you can invest in a piece of Melvins history right here.
Their upcoming documentary Colossus of Destiny will follow the band’s formation and history, and is set for release soon.
When they’re not working on their film project, the band has been busy with the release of a special vinyl edition of Bride Screamed Murder, along with showcase at Permanent Records. King Buzzo was also recently featured in the video game Sunset Overdrive.
Take a listen to one of their latest tracks from their last album in preparation for their upcoming tour here. You can also read about Hold It In from our album review this fall.
