Hudson Mohawke Announces New Album Lantern For June 2015 Release

Since the release of his first studio album Butter in 2009, Scottish electronic producer Hudson Mohawke will finally unveil his second solo album Lantern June 16 via Warp. Although he’s been on a 6-year album hiatus, the Glasgow native has continued to work closely with multiple rap artists, boasts number of showcases at Austin’s SXSW, and is even featured on FlyLo’s Grand Theft Auto V radio station.

Over the past 10 years, Hudson Mohawke has contributed in defining a new era of electronic music production. Starting out within the UK’s underground scene, ‘Hud Mo’ has established an impressive resume as one of the most sought-out producers in the game. Drake, Kanye West, John Legend, Young Thug, Pusha-T and Antony Hegarty are among his record of collaborations.

Although his work features an extensive hip-hop background, ‘Hud Mo’ urges that he is not confined to one genre.

“This album is everything I’ve been working towards,” he says in a press release. “I wanted to make a classic – at least for me and my friends. I never wanted to be any genre. I wanted to be my own thing. Everything.”
